RULES FOR THE 2019 SKETCHS INK BACKYARD BUILD-OFF:

1

This is a backyard motorcycle building competition. This means that for your entry submission to be considered, there must be a considerable amount of modification/customization done to the motorcycle, or that will be done to the motorcycle in the near future while still within the timeline of the Sketches Ink Backyard Build-Off. We prefer to leave the definition of “customization” up to you in order to maximize build creativity. In that same breath, if you choose to submit your stock Harley-Davidson with a super-sweet license plate frame you just bought at the dealer, we simply won’t choose you as one of the ten competing Individuals/teams.

2

Teams of professional motorcycle, dirtbike, or ATV racers, builders, tuners, etc. will not be eligible to compete as we at Sketchs Ink prefer to keep things within the grassroots community.

3

Teams of amateur builders MAY submit a single motorcycle build as a team-entry. The team may consist of NO MORE THAN FOUR MEMBERS. The first and last name of each team member must be written in the team-entry before submission. Submission of a team-entry with failure to list the name of each team member will result in invalidation of your entry submission.

4

The winner/winning team’s motorcycle must be visually assembled no later than April 1st, 2019 (not even joking lol) to be eligible to receive the prize of custom paintwork on the winning motorcycle provided by Sketchs Ink.

5

The winner/winning team must transport the winning motorcycle to Sketchs Ink in Ottawa no later than April 1st, 2019. The winner/winning team is responsible for sourcing the necessary means of transportation for the winning motorcycle. Failure to deliver the winning motorcycle to Sketchs Ink by April 1st, 2019 will result in loss of prize for the winner/winning team. At Sketchs Ink, we take our schedule very seriously and hope you would as well.

6

The winning motorcycle will be given custom paintwork in the winner/winning team’s chosen colour, finish and design provided by Sketchs Ink, and with a cumulative total value not exceeding $2500.00 CAD. The value of the winner/winning team’s prize is estimated based on cost of materials, complexity of the requested design, and length of time necessary to complete. All materials required to complete the winner/winning team’s custom paintwork will be provided by Sketchs Ink and their chosen associates.

7

The winner/winning team must deliver the (now painted), winning motorcycle to Sketchs Ink for it’s reveal by June 1st, 2019. The winning motorcycle will remain inside Sketchs Ink for the entirety of the reveal on June 2nd, 2019.
